ARTIST STATEMENT
THE ART OF
MOVEMENT
Movement has always been my language. I started dancing at age 9 and have spent every year since building across hip hop, commercial street styles, and contemporary technique.
I have danced behind Justin Bieber on the Purpose Tour, performed with J. Cole at the BET Awards, and worked under choreographers including Nappytabs, Mandy Moore, and Tanisha Scott. Television, film, live stage, studio. Each one asks something different from a dancer, and I want all of it.
I also write and record as XCAM. Training my voice changed how I hear music, and that shows up in my dancing. I hear the layers underneath a track now, not just the count.
Dance also runs in my family. My brother Jeremiah is on the autism spectrum, and watching movement give him a way to speak changed how I understand the work. He went on to earn a BFA in dance. Movement is more than steps. It is storytelling, discipline, and soul.
The stage is where I belong. Where technique meets fearless creativity.
